Book On The Move

"An honourable, obstinate, truthful, high-spirited, intensely prejudiced, perfectly unreasonable man."

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky "Once in a while there comes a book that can be life changing, and to a teenager; this is one of those books" You can have your different opinions, but that's mine. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is definitely a book I will pick up at least once a year, and contemplate how different my life has become since I picked this book up for the first time, because you know what; I know exactly how it feels to go through what these kids went through, because I myself have gone through these things. And I'm pretty sure most of you people have too, especially if you're reading this review; because it means someone's recommended this book to you because they think you can relate to it (or maybe I'm just being too mystifying). But seriously, if you're in high school/going to start high school/finishing high school then I highly recommend you read it. This book has to be one of the most relate-able book I've ever read. Because each of these characters hold a little of "us" in them, and vice versa. We've all been Wallflowers at some point in our lives, so why not share the feeling behind it all? And maybe then we can all learn the perks of being one. While reading this book I couldn't help but think of the song "I dreamed a dream," from Les Miserables for some reasons, especially the lines: And still I dream he'll come to me,We'll spend the many years together. But there are dreams that cannot be,There are storms we cannot weather.I had a dream my life would be,So different from this hell I'm living I could actually imagine any one of the characters from this book walking down the street on a foggy night singing this. I don't know why, it just seems really fitting!
